Students will develop and apply their critical thinking skills to theoretical and real educational situations. Students will develop their communication skills, become more self-reflective and self evaluative, and learn positive interpersonal relationship strategies. Students will receive feedback on their communication skills, facilitation strategies, personal teaching philosophies, lesson development, course work, and field performance. 

OBJECTIVE

· Criminal Record Check is needed before entering the practicum experience component of the program. The existence of a criminal record may affect the practicum placement, program completion, and employment prospects. The consequences of a prior criminal conviction will be examined and discussed on an individual basis. The logistics for obtaining a Criminal Record Check will be discussed with students prior to acceptance into the program.

· .Must be Grade 12 or equivalent or Mature Student status.

· Possesses a good command of the English language and is able to follow instructions.

Admission Requirements

The work exposure places students in a public school as a teacher assistant intern for forty days.  During this time, students are exposed to a variety of duties and professional development opportunities.
